PROJECT 3

THE MASHUP OF THREE NEWS ARTICLES

If architecture can have a meaning, we should recognise that what it says is not independent of what it is. A building speaks for what it is, and for what it stands for. It has a function/purpose, it can represent an idea thought how it looks and works; and it can represent its function.
The world is becoming increasingly more mobile. Technological advancements have enabled us to move rapidly around the globe and communicate from distances away. Yet, within societies that are transforming at such a pace, the monotonies of routines and formulas still thrive within even the most mobile of existences.
This condition of mobility-incurred boredom poses a challenge for architects: How might one construct an environment that resists the monotony of routine? A frequently deployed strategy is simply to create spatial variations in which users have opportunities to choose among different occupiable conditions. In small-scale temporary installations – which are already mobile and temporal by definition – the potency of producing transformable spatial variations can also be gleaned from several projects. Architecture expresses aspirations borne of different cultures, sensibilities and circumstances and is practiced in a matrix of neighbourhood, regional, national and international contexts.
Cards on the table: This was the future. It was to be organic. Space defined by new engineering and synthesis of building components. Details not in the ornament, but the technology of the synthesis, enabling purpose, development, relaxation and environmental integration under one roof in the work place.

THE MOVING ELEMENTS

first movement is the adjustable bridge. the following images show the two conditions of the first movement.

second movement is the rotatable lecture room. The lecture room can ratate by the axis in order to allow or resist the sunlight at different time in a day.
